The TAIZA fashion house would like to introduce its new collection of clothes AMERICA MEETS ASIA for the current season spring/summer 2005.

A place where America meets Asia

The new collection for the TAIZA brand has been exclusively created by the fashion designer Kateřina Baloun. For the coming season, she this time drew inspiration from the diversity of Asian and American cultures. Thanks to this, the collection is sophisticated and at the same time very sexy.

The aim of the summer collection is to ensure that the wearer should really feel like a woman. A strong and exquisite Asian accent mainly in the materials used is supplemented by the great return of the American woman with her neo-classic charm and chic style. To a small extent, this also concerns homage to Jackie Kennedy and her famed « touch of class » silhouette, which is characterised by clean lines and very sophisticated simplicity. The collection also bears the spirit of James Bond with its strong cosmopolitan feel. This is a collection intended for all women who want to feel special, sexy and at the same time very comfortable in all circumstances and on all occasions. Indeed the basic motto of this collection is « I can be whatever you want me to be ».

A three-style-collection

These styles perfectly correspond to the lifestyle of the modern woman. The modern woman is characterised by a different mood for every day, work, shopping and mondaine parties. The modern woman is also multicultural, a woman of many faces. Kateřina Baloun has managed to capture this in her dress designs. Individual parts of the clothing can also easily be combined - elegance with simplicity, typical for daily wear can be transformed into refinement and classy wear, typical for the evening.

The Week-end style is intended for the new generation of active and sexy women who demand quality and originality without placing too much of a financial burden on their purses. Mini-skirts from denim with lace print, a classic line of cocktail dresses and psychedelic prints. Yellow and black are dominant. Grey is used as the crossover point between these colours and acts a connecting link.

The Pret-a-porter style is based on the contrast between black and grey with a hint of yellow and pink. The figure looks better, the lines closely follow the body and the scarves hug the figure as is typical for the Asian style of clothing. The material is refined and natural: silk, muslin and satin. America is present here thanks to the billowing costumes in pastel colours in the style of the 60 ' s.

The Couture style (evening dresses) takes over the colours and materials of the Pret-a-porter style, which it refines and fully reflects its beauty and individuality. In the case of long dresses, yellow, pink and black are dominant and the style is a classic one, which barely hides a gentle sensuality in the style of Marilyn Monroe - very dazzling. The characteristic and specific style of Kateřina Baloun once again returns with a design, which is reminiscent of ocean waves.

The fashion designer, Katerina Baloun, knows that every woman hides more than one face

Over the last two years, Katerina Balounova has brought a more pragmatic, youthful and cosmopolitan spirit into the style of TAIZA. Katerina creates clothes for women and knows full well that more than one face is hiding in each of us, which we express ourselves with at various moments. Women are never satisfied with their figure and for this reason Katerina has created the «magic effect» - a design, which helps you to look slimmer and more beautiful but still remaining yourself!

Katerina is a woman who designs for women and knows that modern women are complicated: every day brings a different mood, a different style, a different need to be pampered - for example with a mixture of glossiness and highly refined details and to make women feel sexy in their own way, which perfectly fits to their life style...

The Czech-Canadian, Kateřina Baloun graduated from the prestigious International Academy of Design in Toronto, Canada. She came to the Czech Republic in 2000 for her sister's wedding and once again fell in love with the country. After her European premiere at the Schwarzenberg Palace and several of her own collections she has been designing since 2003 for TAIZA, her designs full of beauty and life, which take after the designer herself.

This year, she also designed clothes for the finalists of MISS CZECH REPUBLIC 2005 and she will be a member of the panel for the final, which is to be held on 9 April in Karlovy Vary.

The TAIZA fashion house

This prestigious Czech-French fashion brand, which is worn by many Czech personalities and celebrities, was founded in Prague in 1999. Over a very short period of time, the main features of TAIZA, i.e. quality and know-how, helped the brand to gain a wide clientele from among women with a distinguished style in the Czech Republic and abroad (France, Belgium, USA, Russia and other European countries).

Some of the past and present customers of the TAIZA fashion house were and still are personalities such as the wife of former president Vaclav Havel Dagmar Havlová, the first lady Livia Klausová, the actress Kateřina Brožová, the singer Iveta Bartošová and the minister Petra Buzková (Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports) along with others.

TAIZA has allowed young fashion designers to express their talent and thanks to this their designs and style are constantly being refreshed while preserving their sense for refinement and elegance. In 1999 to 2003, TAIZA was fanned by an eccentric Cuban breeze.This was however replaced in 2003 by the talented Czech-Canadian Kateřina Balounand after one season, also by the Slovakian designer Richard Rozbora (autumn/winter 2004, haute-couture). At the moment, Kateřina Baloun is designing the classic lines - TAIZA Pret-a-porter and TAIZA Couture as well as a new line, which is more affordable and captures a sporting spirit: TAIZA Week-end.
