TAIZA Fashion Show A-W 2004/5 - Strahovský klášter

4.10.2004 On September 30, 2004, TAIZA Fashion House presented its new Autumn-Winter 2004/5 collection.

TAIZA Fashion Show A-W 2004/5 - Strahovský klášter

This event, held in the beautiful cloisters of the Strahov Monastery, attracted approximately 600 guests. As in previous years, the official presentation was attended by many celebrities, including Pavel Šporcl, a virtuoso violin player, Miloš Zapletal, the president of the Czech beauty pageant, the singer Jan Kalousek and TV presenters Saskia Burešová, Štěpánka Duchková, Viola Ottová and Romana Vítová.

The guests were seated against the walls of the cloister corridors, which were for 60 minutes transformed into a catwalk. Views across the glassed-in atrium with an artificial lake offered an extraordinary visual sensation to all guests alike. The viewers could observe both the models brushing right past them and those perambulating in the corridors across the atrium. The proximity of models to viewers provided for a very intimate atmosphere, turning the guests into direct participants in the fashion show. Music performance and lighting effects further accentuated the evening´s unique character.

The fashion show was subdivided into three parts. The viewers were first presented with Taiza Weekend, a line in clothes that was added to the Taiza portfolio this spring. Taiza Weekend is inspired by horse-riding, and the range of materials includes mainly denim and stretch. After a short break the show continued with Taiza Pret-a-Porter. Tailored suits of this line were predominantly from tweed, wool and georgette. The length of skirts varied between knee-long to ankle-long, while the trousers tended to be relatively narrow, including cigarette trousers. The collection is complemented by 3-length tweed coats in delicate pastel colours. Both Taiza Weekend and Taiza Pret-a-Porter were designed by Katerina Baloun, who has been presenting her work under the Taiza brand for two years now.

The evening culminated in a presentation of the Taiza Couture line, designed by Richard Rozbora BA(Hons), who presented his designs under the Taiza brand for the first time this year. Elegant tailored suits from cashmere, wool and tweed were embellished with distinctive details, such as backstitch, leather applications, delicate hand-embroidered lace or decorative pearls from cut glass. The range of designs presented by this talented author included "the little black dress". The presentation of the Taiza collection was rounded of with luxurious evening gowns from natural silk, georgette and satin. At the end of the show, great success was achieved with the wedding dress from grey silk and hand-embroidered lace, with stitched-on pearls.
