TAIZA Fashion Show - Slovanský dům
17.3.2004 TAIZA Fashion House introduced its new 2004 Spring–Summer Collection
It is already a custom, and deservedly so, to consider the magnificent shows of the TAIZA fashion house as the most significant event in the world of Czech fashion. This year's presentation of the new TAIZA collection, entitled METAMORPHOSIS, was no exception to this rule. More than a thousand spectators gathered in the Great Hall of the Slovanský dům, literally tightly filling up not only the room itself, but also the neighbouring stairs and gallery.
The guest of honour at this fashion show was the first lady of
the Czech Republic, Mrs Livia Klausová. She arrived at the
Slovanský dům with her entourage more than half an hour before the
beginning of the show to greet, as is now the tradition, not only
the director of TAIZA, Jana Fialová, and the fashion designer
Katerina Baloun, but also the members of the entire team who were
completing the last-minute preparations backstage.
Later on, at the end of the evening, Mrs Livia Klausová received
from the director of TAIZA a financial donation to support the
activities of her foundation, the Nadační fond manželů Livie a
Václava Klausových (The Endowment Fund of Mr and Mrs Klaus)
.
Many celebrities could be seen among the guests, such as Marie Rottrová, Tatiana Vilhelmová, Markéta Hrubešová or Pavel Šporcl.
The impressive dominant feature of the elegant stage design of
the TAIZA show was a three-dimensional polygon at the front of the
stage. Visual and light effects completed the exceptional
atmosphere of the evening, while especially allowing the creations
to stand out.
The direction of the TAIZA show was handled by the American
producer Mark Grein. For this occasion, the hair stylists of the
L'Oréal Professionnel team designed delicate, feminine and
free-flowing creations, mostly with loose hair, the make-up of the
beauticians emphasised the appeal and charm of the models and the
colour palette of the new Lancôme collection fully matched the
colours of the fabrics.
The face of the TAIZA Spring-Summer 2004 campaign, as well as the main star of the stage during the show, was top model Zuzana Mačasová, who is currently making regular appearances at fashion shows in Paris, Milan and New York. Another celebrity of the show was model Michaela Salačová, who won the title of Miss Czech Republic at age 17 and, subsequently, the title of Miss Photogenic World 2000 at the Miss World international contest.
The author of the entire collection is fashion designer Katerina Baloun , a Czech-born Canadian graduate of the International Academy of Design in Toronto, who is already in her second year as a designer for the TAIZA label. For the first time in the history of TAIZA, next to the already classical lines TAIZA Pret-a-Porter and TAIZA Couture, a new, more casual line was presented to the public: TAIZA Week-End.
Earth, Water, Air and Fire are the four fundamental elements,
which inspired this unique collection. The designer imprinted on
her models her own vision of the metamorphosis of fish, butterflies
and flowers. Inspiration from nature was also perceptible in the
use of high-quality natural materials such as silk, leather, satin,
cotton and viscose.
The delicate lines of the cuts, flattering the feminine silhouette,
the sensual, sophisticatedly elegant creations, emphasising the
beauty, the intellect, the strength and the personality of the
women who wear them, triggered the visitors' admiration not
only during the show itself, but also afterward, in the TAIZA
boutique, which remained open until midnight for the occasion.
The TAIZA models by fashion designer Katerina Baloun enjoyed a well-deserved success and at the end of the show, it seemed that the applause was never to end.
Shortly after the presentation of the Metamorphosis collection, the new designer of the TAIZA Couture line of the TAIZA Fall-Winter 2004/5 collection, Richard Rozbora , was introduced to the public. In a neighbouring room of Slovanský dům, an independent fashion show took place with the original creations of this Slovak designer's own label, Richard Rozbora Haute Couture. The praises, which were heard among the attending guests and reporters allow us to anticipate further enrichment of the TAIZA style.
